Layouts

This project was all about layout and composition, with the aim of designing a booklet about FilmFour, Legends of the Screen. At the start of the project we had to cut out bits from newspapers and magazines, this was to create different double page layouts to get a better understanding of how layouts and hierarchy works.

The second part of the task was sketching out designs which would help us when laying out all of the information and images. This was helpful because when working on my final design I was able to refer back to the sketches and lay them out in a contemporary manner.

With my final design I am happy with my outcome. It feels and looks like a modern piece of work,  due to the layout of the text and the editing of the images, making something plain like a black and white booklet seem more interesting to the reader. By designing it on InDesign I was able to use the grid systems to get a nice and well distributed layout, creating headings and sub headings with hierarchy over the rest of the text.

In conclusion, I am pleased with my outcome but I would be interested to see how it could work with colour.
